Contemporary jewelry exhibition Mapping ππππ€π£π¨ reunites starting with 21 August 2019 at the National Museum of Maps and Old Books the creations or six Romanian female artists selected by AUTOR platform. The works explore the human body through very personal perspectives and the entire endeavour invites the viewers to define their own map of the concept of beauty.
βThe encounter with art jewelry is a unique experience for each person. Operating beyond the ornamental, these pieces calls into a space where the viewer and the one who chooses to wear them engage in an act of creation together with the designers, where the story re-constructs constantly, driven by new and newer factors, connected first of all to self-knowledge,β stated Dan PierΘinaru, Director of AUTOR platform and curator of the exhibition.
The artists selected by AUTOR platform are Alina Carp, Cleopatra CoΘulet, Mihaela Cherciu, Teodora Rus, Diana ToboΘaru and Carla Szabo.
βThe map today does not only refer to the object that helps us in space orientation; the map implies discovery, exploration, knowledge, mapping of new and unfamiliar territories. The art jewelry exhibition Mapping Beauty invites to interpreting the map using this lens, it gives it a contemporary meaning and opens the museum to a new kind of public,β said Cristina Toma, Manager of the National Museum of Maps and Old Books.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on 21 August 2019 starting with 18:00, and it will be open through 8 September 2019.
